Deanna Ackerman is an award-winning consultant with a distinguished track record as an entrepreneur and nonprofit thought-leader. As the founder of Advanced Development Executives (ADE) Deanna has worked with thousands of CEOs, Executive Directors, and their staff to help them reach their strategic and financial goals. Her clients have included many distinguished affiliates of national charities such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, Boys & Girls Clubs, Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Girl Scouts.
Deanna has been a consultant for nearly 20 years. She's worked closely with her clients to help them raise money and manage relationships with donors. Her experience includes raising millions of dollars in major gifts for new programs, special projects, expansion campaigns, capital campaigns, and endowments. She has personally solicited gifts as large as $40 million and helped her clients navigate relationships with high-net-worth (millionaire and billionaire) donors.
In 2018, Deanna was honored as the Outstanding Fundraiser of the Year for the Sierra Nevada Association of Fundraising Professionals Chapter. In 2016, Deanna was named as one of the Top 100 Women of the Year by MYVEGAS Magazine. In 2014, she was honored in Distinguished Women in Nevada in recognition of her outstanding professional and community achievements. Deanna has served as co-founder of a shelter for homeless women, a volunteer for the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation’s inaugural Advisory Council, as an advisor to the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Southern Nevada, and as a board member for Vegas PBS, Nevada Volunteers, the AFP Las Vegas Chapter, and Dress for Success Southern Nevada.
Deanna believes in building the nonprofit sector by mentoring young professionals in the development field. She has trained thousands of nonprofit staff and board members through her company workshops and national conferences. In addition, she frequently writes for industry publications and has contributed articles and commentary to Charity Channel, NTEN, Advancing Philanthropy, and The Wall Street Journal.
Deanna is an Air Force veteran and in her spare time volunteers for Paralyzed Veterans of America, Nevada Chapter.
